There are a total of four breeding mares here at Morningstar Royal Friesians, two of which are just coming four years old. They are:
Meinou fan 'e Homer (seen in the top two photos at right) was imported from the Netherlands in the fall of 2006. She achieved the "star" designation at the Tulare, California keuring on October 2, 2007. Meinou is by Beart 411, the champion of the 2006 stallion show in the Netherlands. Her dam is by Nykle, a stallion known for passing on dressage ability to his offspring in Holland. Meinou is more than full papered ("full papered" is an expression which indicates that the last four generations, or more, in the pedigree are star, preferent, or model) and Meinou is from stam 28. She was officially measured at the 2007 keuring and is 1.72 meters tall, which is seventeen hands. She is modern in build and is an example of the beauty of the lighter, longer-legged Friesian horse of the future. All 3 of Meinou's gaits are exemplary. In Holland, she was first premie as a foal, first premie again as a yearling, and made first premie once more as a two year old! Meinou is currently in foal to Mintse 384 Sport. Mintse is one of few North American stallions to have been awarded the "sport" predicate, which indicates exceptional performance in dressage or driving. Mintse is also the 2005 FPS World Champion stallion, and was named the stallion with the "Best Trot" at the 2007 Stallion show in Holland. He is fully approved on offspring, and is 16 hands tall.
Namke Siduna is by Wander (the stallion featured in the movie "Bedazzled" with Brandon Frazier), and she is out of a dam by Tsjerk and a grand dam by Oege. You can see her in the bottom four photos on this page. Namke Siduna's bloodlines are a combination of three great stallions that are known to compliment one another in a pedigree. And, as one would expect of this combination of sires, Namke is a great beauty with three long striding and powerful gaits. Namke is more than full papered, and from stam 50. This stam is sometimes referred to as "the winningest stam line" because there are more champions of keurings, champions of shows, model mares, and approved stallions from this stam line than from any other. Namke Siduna attended the Sonoma California keuring on September 29, 2007, and received the designation "studbook". She will be attending a keuring again, probably next fall, as she is still growing and therefore we feel she will show her true quality better in a year, and has a good chance to make the star designation then. She is currently in foal to Mintse 384 Sport for a foal expected in early Summer 2008.
